On February 4th, 2025, Amazon MGM Studios hosted a vendor and community appreciation event at Pinewood Studios in Toronto. This event came one year after the Amazon announced the signing of a long-term lease for over 160,000 sq ft at Pinewood Toronto.
The event, which was attended by over 100 members of the local film and television community, was an opportunity to say thank you to the many local businesses and community members who make Amazon MGM Studios' productions in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) a success.
"None of our amazing projects in the GTA would be possible without the local businesses and community members who are the force behind these productions," said Magda Grace, Head of Prime Video Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, in her opening remarks. "On behalf of Amazon MGM Studios, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you."
"With the exciting projects we have planned in the years ahead, we look forward to continuing to work with all of you to tell stories our customers love, while helping to further build Toronto's production community."
Also in attendance and speaking at the event were MP Julie Dabrusin, Councillor Paula Fletcher, and Toronto Film Commissioner Marguerite Pigott. Each spoke to the importance of film and television productions like those of Amazon MGM Studios to the local community and economy.
