Prime Video customers in Canada can now personalise their recommendations by choosing their preferred language(s) for audio and subtitles. Customers can choose up to five languages from over 35 language options including English, French (Canada), Spanish, Hindi, Japanese, Telegu, Tamil and Korean. The feature will make discovery and streaming even easier for the country’s diverse and often multi-lingual customer base. Prime members enjoy savings, convenience, and entertainment, all in a single membership.
When a customer selects their preferred language(s), Prime Video will filter titles on their homepage to mostly show titles with audio (original or dubbed) or subtitles in their preferred language(s). Customers will also see groups of content specific to the language selection like movies and shows originally in Hindi, movies and shows with Hindi dubbing and more. If the customer has selected multiple languages, all of the selected choices will populate the homepage.
Customers can access the feature by navigating to their profile settings (Edit Profile and select Streaming Languages) on the profile level to see or change their preferences. Customers can update their profile-level preferences on any of their streaming devices, which will automatically update this preference across any device a customer uses to access their Prime Video account. If customers want to see content from multiple languages, they can select all of those languages when choosing their preferred streaming languages. This does not take away from the incredible choice that Prime Video provides consumers, but adds personalisation for a better experience.
At launch in Canada, customers can select up to five of the following languages which will be updated on an ongoing basis: English, French (Canada), French (France), Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, German, Arabic, Chinese, Polish, Japanese, Thai, Korean, Russian, Indonesian, Dutch, Finnish, Turkish, Malay, Portuguese (Portugal), Malayalam, Marathi, Swedish, Filipino, Danish, Norwegian, Hebrew, Bengali, Czech, Hungarian, Kannada, Greek, Romanian, Punjabi, Vietnamese, Gujarati, Ukrainian.
