Amazon is proud to partner with Les Produits du Québec to encourage local buying by showcasing its three certification brands—Product of Québec, Manufactured in Québec and Designed in Québec—thereby guaranteeing that a product is truly made in Quebec.
Displaying the certification brands is a way for Amazon to promote Quebec businesses and demonstrate its support for local buying. The following tools will be deployed:
- A permanent page dedicated solely to Les Produits du Québec and verified products;
- Certification mark logos on each verified product page;
- The Fleurdelysé Boutique, where verified products will be identified;
- A temporary merchandising suite on Amazon Canada for all francophone users.
Member companies selling their products on Amazon.ca will benefit from greater visibility while consumers will have access to clear and transparent information, making it easier for them to choose local products.
In Québec, nearly 1,800 employees work in 6 operation sites every day to ensure that Les Produits du Québec (LPDQ) reach more customers across Canada.
“This partnership with Amazon marks a major step for the promotion of local products. Encouraging local buying is critical to maintaining Quebec’s economic vitality. We are pleased that Canada’s largest online retailer is getting involved in this initiative to support local businesses,” says Christopher Skeete, Minister for the Economy, Minister responsible for the Fight against Racism and Minister responsible for the Laval region.
“Displaying our logos on Amazon is a major boost for the promotion of local buying. Les Produits du Québec’s goal is to reach consumers wherever they make their buying decisions whether it be at their local retailer, a major chain, or online. As such, Amazon’s reach makes it an indisputable merchant for reaching Quebecers considering that millions of online purchases are made on Amazon.ca,” says Elfi Morin, General Manager of Les Produits du Québec.
