Same-Day Delivery gets faster in Canada – from click to doorstep in as fast as 7 hours with a new 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. delivery window

Since launching Prime in Canada in 2013, we’ve continued to bring members new levels of convenience and get our vast selection of products to them even faster. After delivering at our fastest speeds ever in 2023, last week we announced that we beat our own record and delivered to Prime members at the fastest speeds ever globally so far this year, with more than 5 billion units arriving the same or next day – an increase of more than 30% year-over-year. As we continue getting faster, today we’re announcing that Prime members within the Greater Toronto Area, Southwestern Ontario, and Metro Vancouver can now enjoy faster Same-Day Delivery – from click to doorstep in as fast as 7 hours, with the option to select a new 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. delivery window at checkout.

With Same-Day Delivery, Prime members can choose from millions of items across more than 35 product categories to be delivered the same day for free on eligible orders over $25 – saving them time and money. Prime members can find Same-Day eligible items by looking for items marked “Prime Same-Day” in search results or on detail pages, or by clicking the “Get it Today” filter in search results on the Amazon Shopping App or on desktop.

In addition to enabling Prime members to get the products they want and need even more quickly with Same Day Delivery, customers in these areas now have the added convenience of overnight delivery. Orders placed by midnight will arrive by the next morning, giving Prime members another way to stock up on urgent needs like sunscreen, last-minute birthday gifts, or travel essentials for an upcoming trip. Items eligible for this new delivery benefit can be found by looking for items marked “Prime Overnight” in search results or on detail pages – then selecting between two delivery windows – 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

We’ve been able to deliver our vast selection of products at even faster speeds while continuing to improve safety because our employees who are picking, packing, and driving to customers’ houses are doing the exact same thing whether an order arrives the same day, next day, or in two days. Our speed improvements come primarily from placing products closer to customers, which means items are traveling fewer miles and experiencing fewer handoffs between the time an order is placed and the time it arrives on customers’ doorsteps. The safety and health of our employees continue to be a top priority, and we’ve allocated over $750 million globally this year for technologies, resources, training, and programs to further improve safety across our network.
