One hundred per cent of the funds raised will go directly to the Legion’s Poppy Trust Fund to help support Veterans, and their families.
Amazon is a proud supporter of Canadian Armed Forces personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families, and this year we’re taking our support even further by working with The Royal Canadian Legion to offer supporters the opportunity to get lapel Poppies and other official Remembrance items directly through the Amazon.ca store.
For the first time, customers can visit amazon.ca/legion* to make donations of $2, $5, $10, or $20 and receive a commemorative lapel Poppy. One hundred per cent of the funds raised through these donations will go directly to the Legion’s Poppy Trust Fund, which provides support to Veterans, their families.
“We are so excited to present this new initiative,” says Berkley Lawrence, Dominion President. “This collaboration with Amazon Canada will give us a much larger footprint and help ensure that we can distribute as many Poppies as possible. No matter where people live, they can have Poppies delivered to their door and help show their gratitude for our Fallen Veterans.”
The Legion’s Amazon storefront will also feature various other Remembrance Items, including a red neon window Poppy, We Remember lawn signs, and more. By purchasing these products, customers in Canada can visually reflect their support for Veterans, while at the same time support the Legion’s work across Canada. Whether through a donation or a purchase, Amazon customers now have a convenient opportunity to honour those who have served Canada.
"The Royal Canadian Legion Amazon storefront marks the first official collaboration between Amazon and The Legion, designed to provide Canadians with greater access to Poppies,” said Eva Lorenz, Country Manager and Vice President of Amazon Canada. “Ahead of Remembrance Day, we encourage our customers to show their support by getting a lapel Poppy or other Remembrance items from our store."
Lapel Poppies and other official Remembrance items will be available in the Amazon.ca store through Monday, November 11. Other Remembrance items will continue to be accessible through The Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Store and Poppies will still be distributed through thousands of traditional Poppy donation boxes and “Pay Tribute” tap-enabled boxes across Canada.
