Throughout the month of May, Amazon's commitment to employee well-being took center stage at multiple delivery stations across British Columbia as they partnered with HERO DAWGS Pet Therapy to mark Mental Health Awareness Month. The events, spanning various delivery stations across the province included: DVV5 in Burnaby, DYV1 in Delta, DYV7 in Langley, DVC4 in Pitt Meadows, DVV2 in Sidney, and DVC6 in Surrey, and welcomed teams of therapy dogs dedicated to providing canine-assisted wellness visits.

Employees at each location had the opportunity to spend quality time with therapy dogs, including a Bernese Mountain Dog, a Golden Retriever, and a Chihuahua mix, as part of an initiative to raise awareness for prioritizing mental health and well-being. The events highlighted the profound impact of canine companionship on employee well-being, showcasing Amazon's commitment to fostering supportive workplace environments across the province.

In addition to the therapeutic benefits of interacting with therapy dogs, each delivery station emphasized the many benefits and resources available to employees to support their mental health and well-being journey. From health and dental benefits to confidential counseling services and wellness programs, Amazon showcased the range of tools available to address employees' mental, physical, and emotional needs.

Geoff Suter, Operations Manager at DVV2 in Victoria, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with HERO DAWGS, stating, "We're thrilled to partner with HERO DAWGS this month to give employees a unique opportunity to learn about the resources available to them to support their mental health and well-being. Employee wellness is a priority for us at Amazon, and we're committed to providing ongoing support and resources for our employees."

"At Amazon, we prioritize our employees’ well-being and are committed to providing the resources they need to thrive both personally and professionally”, shared Maanasa Alapati, Operations Manager at DVY7 in Langley. Paul Shi, Delivery Station Manager at DVC6 in Burnaby, echoes a similar sentiment stating, “It’s great to give employees an opportunity to pause and learn about the number of health and wellness resources and benefits available to support them.”

Founder and Executive Director of HERO DAWGS Pet Therapy, Carey McBeth, commended Amazon's proactive approach to mental health support, stating, "It's inspiring to see Amazon prioritize the well-being of its employees. By promoting conversations about mental health and providing access to resources, Amazon is creating a culture where employees feel valued and supported."

Through this partnership, our delivery stations across British Columbia are donating to HERO DAWGS Pet Therapy which will aid in supporting the program that places therapy dogs into critical care departments in hospitals across the province, providing emotional support to healthcare workers and reducing stress levels through interactions with dogs.

As delivery vans were loaded with packages during the events, the seamless integration of operational efficiency and mental health awareness exemplified Amazon's holistic approach to employee well-being. Through initiatives like the HERO DAWGS visits, Amazon continues to champion mental health awareness, fostering a workplace culture where every employee feels valued and supported.
