Pride Month at Amazon kicked off with teams rolling up their sleeves to support the local community, showcasing our commitment to diversity and inclusion. At Amazon, we believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Our Pride celebrations, led by Glamazon—one of our affinity groups - are a testament to this commitment. Glamazon plays a central role in organizing and championing these events, ensuring that we not only celebrate diversity but also engage meaningfully with our community.
Throughout June, Amazon Operations sites across Canada celebrated Pride with a series of engaging events. From employee parades and games to festive snacks, these events provided a platform for employees to proudly express their authentic selves at work.

At Amazon’s Toronto Tech Hub, Glamazon organized an insightful coffee chat featuring employees Derek Hooey, Shanam Kapoor, and Chris De Siato, moderated by Ian Royer. The discussion delved into the experiences of being queer at Amazon, the support systems available for queer Amazonians, and how to access various benefits. The event also featured drag performers, Prince Manny Dingo and KellyAnne Michelle, who added vibrant entertainment to the informative session.
“At Amazon, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all team members. The success of our Pride celebrations is a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of our Glamazonians. Celebrating Pride at Amazon is more than just a series of events; it's a reflection of our commitment to inclusivity, support, and community engagement. Together, we continue to make history, championing a diverse, equal, and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive,” says Derek Hooey, Site Leader at YYC5 Sort Centre and Glamazon Affinity Group Leader.
