This holiday season, Amazon employees in Edmonton, Alberta, shared a special moment with their children—offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how they “help Santa” deliver smiles during his busiest time of year.
Children of Amazon employees visited the 2.4 million square foot YEG2 fulfilment centre, where they watched their parents at work and experienced the magic firsthand. From seeing the journey of a package to witnessing Amazon Robotics in action, the day was full of excitement and pride.
Giovanna, 6, whose mother packages customer orders at YEG2, described the experience with a huge smile: “Amazon helps Santa by delivering toys to kids. My mom packages toys and puts them in the delivery box. It was exciting to see Mom’s workshop!”
Other kids shared similar pride in their parents’ work. One young visitor was fascinated by the Amazon Robotics technology and described how Amazon helps Santa, while another added with excitement: “Amazon can deliver to everyone, even to the North Pole!”
For parents like Pria D’Souza, an HR manager at YEG2, the visit was equally meaningful. “I was so proud to show my kids where I work and what I do. They ask me questions about my day all the time, so this was a chance for them to see it up close. Watching their faces light up as they saw all the robotics and teamwork was so special.”
At the end of her visit, Giovanna summed up the magic of the day perfectly: “It was exciting to see Mom’s workshop!”
